Altered our Wubbanub!

At first I was a little nervous that I wouldn't be able to get the result I wanted from the alteration, but in the end I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome. :)

I'll now share my step by step guide on changing your Wubbanub to fit most pacifiers.

1.We start with our Wub. Leo is ready and willing for major surgery.

2. Next we have our pacifier clip with rubber ring. This one was purchased at Target.

3.First, We pulled back the mouth and cut the thread to release the attached pacifier.

4.Next, We marked seven somewhat evenly spaced holes along the new pacifier clip.

(edit) looking back at this step I would have made the holes in the end of the tab. It would give my son a little more "give" when it comes to having the animal lying flat with the pacifier. Definitely something I would recommend!

5.For this step I'm sure there's a couple ways to do this. I chose the easy route and had my husband use his dremel and drill the holes out. Make sure they're big enough for your needle and thread!

6.Now pop the pacifier ring in and you're ready to sew!

7.I started with the knot coming up through the second hole in. I did this hoping firstly, to hide the knot on the inside of the doll, and second to keep the ring from "rocking" since I didn't go through the fabric on the first stitch.

8.Now for the tough part. Since the ring's tab is pushed in a bit it's a smidge on the impossible side to see the holes. So most of the next few minutes will be spent trying to sew.

9.At the end, I made sure to finish on the inside and knot off. Then a little dab of superglue on each knot to ensure they don't unravel.

Success! Now we can swap all my son's pacifiers out on his Wubbanub, and more importantly clean them them properly!

I really hope this helps anyone who was looking into the Wubbanubs, but wasn't crazy about either the pacifier itself, or the ease of cleaning.

Please let me know if this was helpful to you, or if you have any questions or provisions!
